What is an (OS1) Audit?
In the (OS1) World, we conduct two types of audits:
- (OS1) Baseline Audit
- (OS1) Progress Audit
An (OS1) Baseline Audit is conducted at the beginning of any cleaning organization’s transition to (OS1). During an (OS1) Pilot, we typically recommend doing a Baseline Audit to establish a starting off point.
The (OS1) Progress Audit then follows, every 6-12 months, depending on the needs of your organization. The (OS1) Progress Audit contains the same criteria as the Baseline Audit.
Currently, the (OS1) Audit contains approximately 340 key factors that are predictors of success. The key factors are in the form of simple “yes” or “no” questions about the installed (OS1) elements in your organization. Buildings are not evaluated in a traditional “white glove” inspection. Rather than look at the symptoms of the cleaning process, we look at the cleaning and management elements that are in place. Those elements are measured to determine the basis in which to grow your cleaning operation. There is a set formula for scoring an audit. (OS1) Program users are given a comprehensive report, which outlines what elements of their program are missing and what elements need to be installed or re-tuned. The report is a “to-do” list of the various levels of organizational responsibility.
The (OS1) Audit Report contains four major sections:
- Audit Criteria Checklist – The total number of responses on the checklist represent the percentage scores for each job category (cleaning worker, supervisor, manager, trainer, purchasing and senior management).
- Composite Score – The overall composite score for the cleaning organization in comparison to the (OS1) Standard of 80%. Organization’s who achieve a score of 80% earn the distinction of (OS1) Green Certified Program for that auditing year. The green designation must be earned each audit year to retain this designation.
- Comparison Scores – A comparison chart of the Progress Audit scores from other organizations in various stages of the process. This is a vital component for bench marking best practices in the (OS1) World.
